Hello,
I have a small laundry in an apartment building. One washer & one dryer. It has a dedicated 40 gal electric water heater running on 240 VAC @ 30 amp fed by 2 - #10 wires in conduit (there are 2 - 4500 watt non-simultaneous elements). It would be prohibitively difficult to upsize the breaker. Is there an electric tankless that can save me a few schekels?

nope , the flow rate to fil la washer is similar to say a garden hose and i would seriously doubt any instant heater could make that much hot water on a 30 amp circuit , however i very simple means to save some money when heating with electricity is simpy to install a 30 dollar timer on the circuit , electric hot water tanks recover relatively quickly , so simply put dont run it when you dont need need to if the laundry is open from say 9 am to 9 pm turn the tank off from 9 pm till 7 or 8 am and you wil seesome real savings for a 30 dollar investment instead of a thousand dollar investment
